Last time I raced down here was the 2011 National and it was awesome to be back! Last race of the year @legacyracingassociation. Finished 3rd in UTV Turbo. Had a clean race and didn’t make @kschafer148 get out of the car all day. Definitely could have pushed harder but wanted to finish🤷‍♂️. The old guy finished in the blue car too which made the parents happy! Had some fun sliding around at the final @corcs_racing round of the season. Ended up 5th O/A. It’s weird to me to see how I can’t get my weight back into a good attack position coming into corners but oh well! Thankful to get the W in the UTV Turbo class @yorracing Wild West 100. The course was so rough and difficult it’s an accomplishment just to finish. My car has a grenaded transmission so my mom gave up her seat driving her car for my dad so I could drive his. (Thanks mom😘). We gotta figure out some stuff on the Blue car cuz I had to stop every lap and shut the car off to get it out of limp mode. Just in case I wasn’t too sore from the 4 wheeled race I signed up to race Sunday with the bikes too! I set a goal to make at least 1 lap without eating shit and the second lap I did it!!! (Crashed multiple times every other lap🤦‍♂️). Had 2 good ones where you are falling through the air wondering when you are gonna hit the ground. One of which I fell off a 6 ft ledge to my back and collected myself just in time to take a Kaw 450 to the face! Haha I really wonder if my arm still worked like the old days if the race would be as hard as it is now or how I would do. But you can’t go back in time right? Just thankful to be able to be out there at all! Got the W @revolutionenduro in the 30-39 class and 10th O/A. Rode my @intensecycles Sniper T for this round and it was the perfect bike! My @fasstcompany bars and @amegrips saved my hands and arms all weekend. @gbrakesusa rotors and pads handled all the stopping duties flawlessly! @flowformulas were in the water bottles all weekend and kept me charging for 2 big days! @crankbrothers XCT synthesis wheels were perfect all weekend! Thanks to @alpinestars_cycling as well!

The @bor_racing Jackpot 200 didn’t disappoint. Awesome course with tons of variety in the terrain! Was able to get 1st out of the UTV’s and 3rd O/A. @boston_885 had me covered until the last lap when he had a mechanical issue that let me back by. Started out slow to just get the car to the end and it worked. Didn’t have to get out of the car all day which was a great change compared to how the rest of the year has been going! I used @flowformulas in the car and was very happy with the results of how I felt at the end. It’s pretty darn impossible for me to eat anything while driving so for 5 hours Flow provided the nutrition! I Spent the last week as an instructor and huddle leader at @fcamx camp in Colorado. Every year the camp has a huge impact on me in different ways. The first year I was there I was asked to give a testimony to the campers. It was supposed to be about 5 minutes (Think I did about 40…) That Testimony was the basis for this movie. I just couldn’t get it out of my head that I needed to tell what I had gone through to a larger audience. I am blown away that my story has been seen more than 21,000 times now. I have to thank @rhmedia.film for working with me to pull this story together. Awesome day at the @corcs_racing @racermec race today! 4th O/A. Course was so much fun. Got beat up on by @ryan.grantom @chasebright108 @_kyle.deroche_ . Chase and Kyle were just little dudes that I used to coach that are now are kicking my butt! I am getting stronger all the time but the special paw was really struggling the last 2 tests. Highlight of the weekend was all the people that said the film @rhmedia.film put together was meaningful to them. It means a lot! “Never Stop Improving” -Lowes

Ride along with Cody Schafer and co-pilot @chazd422 as they take the UTV Turbo class Win @legacyracingassociation final race of the season. The course was tons of fun with great variety! Had a clean day with only minor car problems. Chaz had to change a belt that turned itself into spaghetti and had to be cut out. Just as we were getting going again @kschafer148 passed us for the lead and we were hoping for a @schaferracing 1-2. The Blue car didn’t cooperate and had a rear hub come apart ending Kyle’s day. With the other competitors having more issues then we had I kinda drove Miss Daisy around for the third lap to save the car and bring it home for our first UTV win!

It has been a learning curve finding the delicate balance of speed and endurance to get a car to the finish while being out front. We finally pulled it together here in Jean, NV winning in the Turbo class. Thank you to everyone that has made this happen and to @troydurango and team for the pit support! Awesome weekend in Utah with @legacyracingassociation at the Dirt Rebelution. One blown belt in the green car and a few limp mode issues we figured out were due to a fuel pump in the blue car and we were able to get them to the finish! Cody and Sebastian drove to 3rd place in the turbo class while Kyle and Laurie drove to 1st place in the Stock Modified class. Wanted to congratulate myself on being self declared King of the @rumbleatoakridge (disclaimer this is in no way true) the staff was just sitting there so I picked it up to feel special! I did however finish in the top 5 of all my motos(don’t check how many were in my classes). I also was able to be eliminated in the first round of the pit bike straight rhythm by a 10 year old. Then I was not able to even win the one thing off-road related and finished second in the hill climb challenge! I had no business joining the scrub challenge since a partially handicapable guy with a big tank does not belong sideways off any jumps! Is it 2:30 in the morning and am I on a @mountaindew code red silly train? Maybe… as serious as I can be thank you to @oakridgemx for an amazing weekend. The environment was up there on one of the most fun races I have ever done! Shout-out to @motosportinc for supporting this race and helping create a great family event!

Really excited to finally get to work tomorrow on a project that has been keeping me up at night for a few years now. In September 2019 I was involved in a head on collision while racing dirt bikes. I lost about 90% function of my left arm. The past 3 years I have been able to get an additional 10% of life back into it but it’s still very limited in function. I am not as fast as I once was; but I am grateful to still be able to be on two wheels. I was able to finish 3rd in the 30-39 class @revolutionenduro Steamboat round. Weekend recap link in bio. After 30+ minutes of racing I was 7 seconds off the lead.

What an amazing ending to an incredible week! Started the week as a huddle leader and off-road instructor @fcamx. I get so much meaning out of being able to share with these kids the skills I have learned on the track as well as mentor them off the track and try to help them learn from the experiences I have had. Today was an incredibly emotional experience for me. A little under 3 years ago I had a serious accident that left me with a paralyzed left arm. I wish I could see the doctors face who so coldly told me “You will never use that arm again”. I teamed up with @brycesmith275, @donatelli_303, and @kolten_barlow198 to tackle the @corcs_racing 12 hr challenge. We were able to take the overall win. I never imagined laying in that hospital bed I would be standing atop the podium once again. It was for no pro purse or championship points but this win means more to me then anything I have accomplished before. I am thankful for the worst thing to ever happen to me. Without that accident I wouldn’t have the appreciation for the gift we call life. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says: “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Laying in the hospital bed I thought that was a cruel joke; now today it makes so much sense. Well the @yorracing big sky 200 kicked our asses. This course was beautiful and FUN. But man it got the best of us. The amount of mechanical issues we dealt with all weekend is too long to list. After sorting out our mechanical woes from practice we thought we were in good shape! Only to have the turbo quit in Cody’s car in qualifying. So we unsuccessfully worked on trying to figure that out until 15 min before the race started. We then decided to have Cody and Barry swap cars to get the best result. (Cody’s car would be running without a turbo) So now it was time to go racing! Laurie’s (pink lady machine) blew a belt 5 seconds into the race, only to get going again and completely loose her front wheel about two turns later. Cody at the helm of Barry’s car was running great, only to get caught in a dust storm making a pass and rolled twice from getting cross rutted. After landing rubber side down, was able to keep pace and moved up a few positions going into the second lap. The car was loosing brake pressure intermittently and ultimately ended up sheering off the front wheel to end his day. Barry was making the best of running a car at half power until the smell of drive fluid and suspicious grinding in the drive train prompted him to pull off and limp back to the pits. So the result of the weekend was all three cars DNF! Huge thank you to all of our sponsors for taking some of the sting out of the cost it takes to race and repair these machines. We won’t be at Baja Nevada next weekend. But we’re looking forward to showing up and giving it out best shot at the next @yorracing!
